Cookie Policy
AlignPoll sets a few first-party cookies to protect its forms, keep you signed in and remember the private links you hold. It uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
The cookies we set
Every AlignPoll cookie is first-party, HttpOnly (scripts on the page cannot read it) and SameSite=Lax. Over HTTPS each is also Secure, and the site-wide ones carry the __Host- prefix.
- align_csrf: a random token that protects every form against forgery. Set on your first visit and kept for 30 days.
- align_account: your sign-in session, set only when you sign in. It lasts 30 days and is cleared when you sign out.
- align_return: which event to reopen after you sign in, sent only to account pages. It lasts as long as a sign-in email and is cleared once used.
- align_business: links this browser to a Business checkout until the purchase belongs to an account. Set when you open Pricing or Business and kept for 30 days.
- align_organiser: the private organiser credential for one event, sent only to that event's pages. Set when you create a Personal event or open its private organiser link, until your browser session ends.
- align_participant: the private edit credential for your response to one event, sent only to that event's pages. Set when you save a response or open your private edit link, until your browser session ends.
Storage on your device
When you choose a timezone under Show times in, AlignPoll's script remembers it in your browser's local storage as align-display-timezone, so the next event opens in the same timezone. It holds only the timezone name and is never sent to us.
AlignPoll installs no service worker and keeps nothing else on your device.
Other services
AlignPoll's pages load nothing from other sites. Some services follow their own policies:
- Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, which you visit to pay for Business.
- Cloudflare, which carries our traffic, may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
Your controls
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Deleting align_organiser or align_participant deletes no event or answer, but you will need the private link to manage or edit it again. Blocking cookies stops forms from being sent and sign-in from working.
